Waypoint Asset Management has offered its support this year to the ladies football team at the Riverside Football Club in South Africa.
The ladies football team began with a humble total of four players and has grown to in excess of 20 players. Their passion together with the support of their coach, Carlo, has led the team to enter the Durban Central League Football Association for the first time.
The purpose of starting this team was to improve the physical and social skills of the young women involved, as well as giving them the opportunity to meet new people and build lifelong friendships. One of the players said: “It is a privilege to be part of such a professional outfit. The coaching and the club facilities are of an exceptional standard, and Waypoint’s generous sponsorship has taken us to the next level; we feel part of something great and exciting.”
Mike Riley, a director of Waypoint, said: “Waypoint is proud to sponsor the team. We recognise the importance of developing social and leadership skills through sport from a young age. This is something which reflects the values of the Waypoint team who are pleased to contribute to local community events throughout the UK and South Africa.”
