Disney has signed a new lease for a pop-up store in the Cleveland Centre, Middlesbrough, which opened on 21 October 2016.
The hugely successful American retailer now occupies a 3,617 sq ft area of Unit 11 in the Centre Mall to fulfil demand for its exclusive Disney-related items around Halloween and Christmas. As many as 20 jobs are being created to provide customer service to the centre’s shoppers.
The first Disney Store opened in the Glendale Galleria, California, in 1987, and just three years later, it opened its first overseas store in Oxford Circus, London. The company now has an impressive 387 stores worldwide.
Announcement of its Cleveland Centre store has elicited a huge public response with daily coverage in the local press and over 3,000 ‘likes’ on the shopping centre’s Facebook page.
Property consultant Lunson Mitchenall and Alison Gurney of Waypoint New Frontier worked together on completing this deal.
